I have been a California Realtor since 2005. Ever since then, I have been a top-producing agent at Sotheby’s, Marcus & Millichap, and Douglas Elliman. On average I make nearly $500K annually from being a real estate agent here in LA. I have other projects, like investing and flipping apartment buildings. In addition to being a Realtor for so long, I was also the Team Leader for two LA Keller Williams Realty offices. I have personally trained and coached over 800 new agents. The reason I produce so much is because cold calling is one of the fundamental parts of growing my business and earning more commissions.

Every single year I get 50% of my real estate business is from from cold calling. The other 50% is from my past clients and sphere of influence. The main issue with real estate is that while you need to sell your listings and help close deals with your buyers, you have to continually prospect for new business. Otherwise, you can go from poor to rich to poor again in a few months time. Cold calling is considered ‘old-school’ and even outdated by many, but it is one of the most powerful ways for new or experienced agents to super-charge their businesses. That’s why I continue to do it, in addition to the other marketing I do… other than door-knocking, nothing beats the speed and efficiency of cold calling, especially expired and canceled listings.
